I've used cafergot for 25 years. Tablets, sublingual and inhaler (not made anymore).
Inhaler was fastest, then subligual.
I've mainly used tabs. I take one at the first hint of a HA and if it hasn't worked in 15 minutes, I take another. It usually kicked the the HA in about 20-30 minutes. There were some HAs that it didn't touch. I've gone through some 2-3 hour zingers with 5 or 6 tabs of ercaf in me.

I take about 30 tabs/week which is 3 times the allowed. My fingers and toes are always cold when I'm taking it but no circulation problems yet. My doc freaks when he hears how much I take but screw him, he's not the one hurting.
