There is strong evidence to suggest that serotonin imbalance is involved in bi-polar disorder, as it is in CH. You didn't mention which mind-altering substance you took... was it one of the indole-based hallucinogens such as LSD or psilocybin?

Also, it is important to note that the doses involved in treating CH are SUB-HALLUCINOGENIC... no need to watch the walls breathe.

It is, of course, your choice. I have no idea how distressing a minor episode of manic-depression would be in comparison to daily visits from the beast. The unfortunate thing is that in your case you may eventually be faced with having to pick the least uncomfortable alternative.
