There are some websites that go into detail on the Gamma Knife. The neurosurgeon I went to said NO to it. I had a StereoTactic RadioFrequency Trigeminal Rhizotomy instead and so far NO MORE HAs. Dr. Hurt said this was a lot safer than the Gamma Knife.

If you're thinking about having it done, check it all out before you do anything. They've been doing the SRTR for about 35 years on TN and started it on Clusters several years ago. Either way, it's going to knock out the Trigeminal nerve and you'll be numb on one side.

But also, everyone is NOT a candidate for either surgery. Hope you find something that works.

Hugs BD
