I worked from 1982-1994 for Teledyne (about 1500 employees) and was bought by Litton Industries. I was asked to voluntarily provide a resume' and authorize Litton to have access to my personnel file. I felt like a slave... I was being sold! Those who did not provide a resume' and authorization to access their personnel files... they were laid off.
Now Litton Industries is being bought by Northrop/Grumman, a done deal this month. So here I am again... being sold like a piece of meat at the grocery store.
I've learned to deal with it, same place 18 years, and three employers ... as long as the pay and benefits are somewhat equal... what can you do??? Sure is stressful though!
