Maxalt or Imitrex tabs???

I am NEW here....And have a headache as I am typing...OK - so I have been dealing with these headaches for 3 years - I have tried Zomig (got the shakes/sweats) - The Butalbitals do nothing...
New doctor has given me samples of Maxalt and Imitrex - If either work, he then will write the RX...
What are your experiences with these drugs -
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..
