I have read many times the Guest Book.
I can assert that only the 20% of those that sign the guest book come later to the board.
OK, let's assume a 30% will not return here (and I suppose a very large percentage), and the previous 20% become a "regular member" (OUCH included, but not exclusive).
It remains the 50% of people that don't know, or have never used, or are not used to manage....whatever you want..... the BOARD!
BTW Piera (another italian sufferer) belong to this 50%, I ...."picked up" her with an E-mail, otherwise she will never knows about the effectiveness of the board. And she is still having problems, she's a computer newbie... :-)
OK I have 2 answers, and we can do both of these:
1) Could you, DJ, add a script of auto-answer with E-mail to the people that leave a post on the Guest Book?
...Writing all the "Basics" of the Board, the possibilities of the "exchange" of info, the main sites to visit, etc...
....and, because the first will be a "generic", aseptic E-mail, we can...
2) Organize a task force that will answer to the Guest book posts every day. We can do it one day per month (I hope almost 30 people could do this!)
It is not a huge work, just a couple of "personal" E-mail to the people that ask for help!
Let me know what do you think about this, and you, DJ, if the 1st thing is possible
