That maybe your husband suffers from manic depression, or may even be suffering from a bi-polar disorder? The only reason I ask this is because I have a friend who is both manic and Bi-polar, and he once left his home with only a notebook and a ruler. He went on what is known as an episode; and everytime someone tried to talk to him, he was sure they were conspiring against him.
His doctor took him off of Lithium and put him on something called Chloniphen (not sure of the spelling.) He is now doing better.
Whatever the cause may be, I agree with Annemarie. Your husband needs professional help in order to get back to where he belongs. Sometimes large amounts of stress can cause one to lose it; and CH definitely puts enough stress on a person to break thier backs.
In any case, I hope your household returns to normal soon.

Peace,
Carl D
