Absolutely! I am ofter hypersensitive to smells -- expensive perfume, sometimes gasoline, diesel fuel at the airport, and of course the candle aisle at the supermarket, to name just a few.
I always thought the sensitivity occurred when I had a sinus infection, but along with every other aspect of cluster headaches, I'm beginning to wonder.
As I look back five years, one of the first adumbrations of my clusters was an acute sensitivity to odors which I never even noticed before.
I must tell you that my neurologist is not particularly interested in this topic because, I guess, he doesn't know where to go with it.
Oh, and did I mention oil base paint?
Anyway, I'm beginning to think that if I can smell it, avoid it.
