Hi everybody.
I've been having episodic cluster headaches for about 5 years now, and just recently went to see a doctor about them. My doctor (a general physician, not a headache specialist) prescribed Claritin and Propanolol for my headaches. I've never heard of these drugs used to treat cluster headache before -- I think the drugs are more for migrane. Should I see another doctor in order to get the good stuff? (Lithim, Ergotamine, etc.) or has anybody else taken these drugs to successfully treat cluster?
Also, I've heard of people breathing oxygen to abort a headache. Is this something that needs to be prescribed by a doctor, or can you get it elsewhere? If the latter, where?
