At the bottom of the Convention2001 webpage is the following link to MARTA - the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. Check their site out - I expect they have a route to the bus station.
MARTA doesn't run down to the hotel, but it does go to the Airport, which is only a few miles away. Several of us who are driving have volunteered to pick people up at the airport.
