Yes, I've thought about it - for about 15 seconds when I have a CH attack coming on!

I've winced at some of the comments from people on this board when they write "I started this, and then tried that, now I'm doing so and so..." I sometimes want to write back "Hey! Slow down there!"

As you are well aware, when the pain strikes, all you want is for it to be gone. It doesn't matter what the drug is, just let the pain be gone. I take it in stride that all the other people here are getting the meds from their Dr. just as I am.

I take Ercaf like candy. My diary shows that for the month of March '99 I took 129 tablets of Ercaf, 5 bottles of O2, 6cc of Lidocaine, and 14 doses of Imitrex (I reduce the dose of Imitrex, so each "dose" is = 1mg). According to the drug co's., I should be either a) dead, or b) have ergotomine poisoning so bad I can't function.

I've been doing this for 6 years now. My Dr. knows all this, and compliments me on REDUCING the amount I've been taking. I show no side effects what-so-ever.

Long term effects? Yes, probably. But then, I also have a heart problem. My Dr. has found that one of the nerves in my heart is dead. When I asked if it will effect me in any way, he said "yeah, when your a 103 and chasing some woman!"

We all have to go sometime! I just don't want to do it in pain!

Verne
