There is a direct correlation between your pain level and your BP. This is a well known effect. I have been told by more than one doctor in the ER or urgent care clinic that it is a very easy way for them to double check whether or not somebody is truly in pain or if they are just in there to get a shot to try and get a buzz. I have walked into the ER with a BP of 190/160, and walked out (actually wheeled out, wasn't walking too well after 350mg of Demorol) with a BP of 112/68. People can fake a lot of pain symptoms easily, but they can't fake the high BP which accompanies it.
