James you are right there is less numbness with Gamma Knife. Alot don't even have any numbness and those who do it's minimal and goes away. Less problems with hearing and sight loss which you could have with the other procedures.
They have been doing gamma knife for tumors since, at least the 60's, with no problem with the radiation down the road.
We have to do our own homework on what we think is best for us cuz most doctors *will talk up* what procedure they specialize in.
Good luck with your MVD, get a good doc who has done lots of those!
Since my pain is so different than most of you there isn't any surgery that can help me...I'm just passing on to you all what little I know.
