I wonder that the doctor gave you a prescription without first requiring you to try

Imitrex in his office. My doctor agreed to let me have an injection. I was in cycle, but between attacks. But I was desperate and practically on my knees begging. He also prescribed a shot of phenergan to be given at the same time. I drove home from his office feeling pretty good and once there fell asleep in my car (the warmth of the garage felt so soothing and I had not slept for several nights due to CH attacks.) I did not stir for about 2 hours.

But I am a real wimp about doing something potentially dangerous away from the doctor's
supervision.

Do you have any heart problems; were you tested to determine whether there was any abnormality you and the doctor were unaware of?

Could you call and check to see whether he feels
it is totally safe to try Imitrex unsupervised?
Maybe you could go to a fire station where there are parametics and let them supervise your first injection. Those guys are great about doing random blood pressure checks for people.

We would not want anything bad to happen to you.
