I have been a CH suffere for years, and it seems that they always come during excessively hot summers.... I even feel,, that my body knows the beast is coming a week or two before the onset. Just a general feeling of malaise.
I have often wondered what really triggers them, only God knows for right now.
I do think the future looks brighter for the Ch suffer...New meds, and more research , at least for me,, has helped considerably..
My doctors always loaded me up with narcotics,, worked for a day or two then , good ole rebound effects..
I just recently went to a neurologist, who has taken charge of this monster with..Predisone 60 mg. a day for five days,, verapamil 180 mg. daily, and imitrex injections at night as needed.
I had my first pain free night last night.That truly makes me :)
I know the anxiety you feel when they are first starting to strike again. I had been pain free for 2 years, and I knew it was too good to be true., but,, they are much more treatable then they were 20 years ago....
