I'm with you Jack. I've had them for 30 years. Call it surrender, defeatism or whatever. I've accepted the fact that they will come. I will suffer. They will leave when they are ready to. Yes I take medications and try different things to lessen the pain and duration but I've accepted the fact that this is my affliction in life. Nothing I can do will make them stop. I will shut down, I will withdraw, I will do whatever I have to to get through each cluster. There is only one entity that can take them away for good and until HE is ready to do that, I will sit quietly, wipe the tears and snot and endure. I will also enjoy the times that they are in hiding (like now).
