I have been lurking around ever since my current CH attacks began again after a 4 yr respite! I had a few along the way but by no means, to this extent in awhile. This is the Hell I remembered and the pain is excrutiating to say the least. I don't think I need to describe it since you guys feel the same pain! This bout entailed a new doctor due to insurance and he was pretty good. I have found that the imitrex injections are a life saver! I started them on Tuesday but only received 2 :( . I then called the Doc and he put me in for 8 more :) . I get a call from the drugstore and find out the insurance company is not happy with the script and will only supply 8 per month!
I NEED AT LEAST 8 A WEEK IF NOT MORE! I have to suffer through attacks while I have the imitrex just to have them last longer ! Last time I went through an episode like this it lasted over a year! I hate to whine but this is hard to take. After the first bout of these my life changed drastically, I found myself more reclusive and really need a push from friends and relatives to get out of the house. I am a Manager of IS operations for a Fortune 500 company and the job is pretty taxing and stressful. I travel about once a month and am terrified of an attack while on the road(Paranoid I guess). As I am writing this I can feel attack #2 for today coming on:( . I am hoping that I have found a place to hang out and really feel for everyone here. Last time I had these to this extent I went through quite a bit and am glad to find this site this time around. If anyone has any experience in dealing with insurance companies in these matters let me know!
