Sorry, but there is no way I can make it to the convention. Years of paying full pop for my Imitrex have damaged me financially to the point where I just can't afford to go.

I don't think much has changed since I last posted my opinion on the use of mushrooms in treating CH, except that a bunch more people have found out that it works, and several more have begun (and/or completed) growing their own supply.

It is also becoming apparent as more data rolls in that there are some drugs that may decrease the effectiveness of psilocybin (and presumably LSD) in certain individuals. These seem to be the drugs that are also targeted at neurotransmitter function, such as Topomax, Neurontin, Lithium, etc. This doesn't come as a surprise to me, since it has been known for decades that certain anti-psychotic meds will "bring down" someone who is "tripping" on LSD or psilocybin... Thorazine was the one used most commonly in the sixties and seventies, though there are others.

Another fairly recent development is that as more and more clusterheads harvest their own mushrooms, there will be quite a surplus of dried mushrooms available in our little community. Although I have always advocated that each person grow their own, I have no doubt that a lot of that excess crop will be circulating through the mail to the have-nots. From the private e-mails I have received lately, this is happening already.

On that last point, DO NOT e-mail me for the names of those who are doing this. If you do, you will receive no answer. I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. If I receive an e-mail with a dozen questions about various aspects of growing or using mushrooms, and just ONE of those questions is "can you put me in touch with someone who already has some full-grown mushrooms he can send me", then I will ignore the entire e-mail.

HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?

For those who want to start growing their own and need information on where to acquire spores and how to proceed from there, I suggest they check out "Doc Charlie's Guide to Medicinal Mushrooms", and my addendum to it mentioning my preferred spore supplier, a fellow clusterhead whose screen name is "3mshrooms".
