My strawberry patch has flowers so the season isn't too far off. The wife unit eats them almost as fast as I can pick them but I do get to make a little jam now and then. After years of making jam with Sure-jell, I ran into Pomona's Universal Pectin. Its Calcium based rather then sugar based (Sure-jell wont set unless you have at least a 50% sugar mix). Pomona's will set hard as a rock with no added sugar so you can sweeten as you like and get the real fruit flavor.

It's available mail order, just search the web. I have no connection to the company, just use the product and love it. (Peaches with a little ginger and cinnamon is real good too!)
