Last Sunday night I went in for a sleep study for my CH's. All wired up in a hospital here in NJ and was comforted by the nurse working for the sleep study that I would have access to Oxygen if I needed it. I had a tank in the car if they couldn't supply it but I was told not to worry. I fall asleep and 45 min into my sleep I wake up with the typical oh no why me here it comes feeling, the adrenilin rush and blood vessel in right temple throbbing 3 to 5 minutes before all hell breaks loose. I sall for the nurse and she tries to get me a tank and/or a doctor. Because the sleep study is space rented by an outside company I was not considered a patient and would need to be admitted for me to get a tank or medical treatment. Here I am all wired up and going out of my mind in pain. My cries for help echoed throughout the halls of the ward and I split the headboard of the bed with my fist begging for help. The nurse was crying and in a panic as she was the only one who could help me and really didn't understand the problem I was having. She had to undo all the wires and have them rush me to the ER downstairs for treatment. 5 to 7 min of oxygen and it was like always(as if I never had a headache. 45 minutes of pain all over hospital procedures, there was a tank accross the hall that I wasn't allowed to use.
My doctor is disappointed we only got roughly 1 1/2 hrs of sleep and or headache recorded but he believes there will be some valuable data to look at and I will be meeting with him Monday afternoon to go over the results. Has anybody else been wired up during a major headache and what did the results show? Doctor and other neuros in his office have several other CS patients but they have not seen this kind of data before. Any info would be appreciated
