Well, I know the feeling of immitrex tabs...if I were you, seeing as you get them frequently and are probably nearing the height of your series, get onto immitrex Sub-cutaneous injections. They are a godsend. Takes anywhere from 7-15 minutes to take away pain. Look at the Immitrex tip on the side board here...it works for me and slows the rebound headaches. As for prednisone, it works but it is toxic if used for a while. What a lot of doctors are doing is giving slow doses of prednisone and verapamil together for two to three weeks and then weaning you off prednisone to just verapamil. You see, prednisone takes immediate effect but cannot be used prolongingly. Verapamil can be used for a long time but takes two to three weeks to really take hold of your cycles. Ask your doctor. Also, if you tend to get a lot of headaches during sleep, it may be you have sleep apnea...maybe sleeping on your stomach or side would lessen these. It works for me. Get that checked out if you do. These things DO work...I promise.
