I have learned that pain is what the patient says it is-no more,no less. Instead of asking about nausea,etc., I ask "Tell me what your headache feels like." Gets a whole lot clearer picture of what's going on. Tell you what, that nurse needs a refresher course in empathy and when to keep her mouth shut. I wouldn't have blamed you if you had popped her good-hell, I'd even come bail you out of jail-LOL.
