I just thought about Steve, a coworker back in 1964. We were both on 2nd shift at the time and would meet in the cafeteria before work for coffee. He and I had something in common, terrible "sinus" headaches. No one had ever heard of CH. One day Steve was really up, he had finally seen a doc that knew what to do. I too was excited. Well, the next time I saw him he looked like a whipped puppy. The "treatment" was scraping his sinuses. Up each nostril with a surgical instrument and scrape away. He described the pain as 10 times worse than any headache he'd ever had but kept telling himself "this is a cure". Immagine his dismay when the doc told him to make an appointment for next week. "oh no" sez the doc, "we have to do this on a regular basis". He never went back. Oh yeah, the treatment didn't do a thing for his "sinus" headaches.
We HAVE come a long way. Pain free and remission for all.
