Afraid to go to sleep

I,m afraid to go to sleep, I don't know if I can take it anymore.Has anybody been like this before? I cry everytine I think about the pain ripping the life out of me soon after I go to sleep.Have been pain free for about 24 hours and I know its getting close, I feel that feeling behind my left eye fading in and out like its checking to see if I,m awake or not.What would you do?
