Hi Dennis,
The only question I can answer for you is about the hot tub.....my husband is the sufferer and, when he is in a cycle, if he spends more than 5 minutes in our hot tub, he will go directly into a headache. For him, it is elevated blood pressure that is the trigger and, as the body heats up from the tub, the blood pressure rises. He immediately has to go stand on the cement floor in our garage (unheated) to try to avert the attack. Suffice it to say, he avoids the hot tub when he is in a cycle.
Interesting to note, I have taken his b.p. when he is in an attack and it is quite common for him to go to 160/120 - very high diastolic, scary. As soon as the bastard leaves him, the bp returns to normal (for him 125/80). When he is not in a cycle, his bp stays normal. We have totally baffled local docs with the high diastolic measurement and, surprise surprise, they have offered no solution.
Best of luck to you in your research
