ok, don't say i didn't warn ya'

when you are attached to the way things are, it's very hard to put your faith in anything else. You don't trust yourself to risk experiencing anything other than what you already know.. you don't trust life to bring you the results or rewards you desire. You don't trust that you can and will handle whatever comes your way.
without trust, there can't be faith.. without faith, you'll hold on to what you know. in the process you're not gonna' be making any progress.
attachment is another way of saying,.. 'i don't have faith in anything else! i know what this is! i can handle this!' you want to control your experiences and your responses. rather than fight with you for control, life will send you into that pit of stagnation some of us know well. this can be sooo extremely painful!
attachment reflects a lack of faith in your ability to learn. learning takes place three ways (i'm sounding like Todd here).. you learn by force, learn by choice, or learn by being forced into making a choice. when you're attached to what you know or what you can control, chances are you're gonna' be forced to make a choice. you can choose to stay attached and be stagnant in your pain and confusion or you can decide to let go and have faith that the next experience is gonna' be exactly what you need, ya' just didn't know you needed it.
how about the thought of opening your heart and mind to the possiblity that there is something great waiting for you. letting go or giving up the attachments that are standing in the way, and just having the faith that you WILL be pleasantly surprised.
love y'all... yup and i'm shutting up now too :-)
