I, too, have tried the Zomig 2.5 mg tablets with great success. I take one at the first hint of a CH approaching, rather than every 8 to 10 hours as you suggest. If taken early enough, the pain never gets worse than about 5 out of 10. Even if I wake up with a full-blown 10, the Zomig will kill it in about 40-50 minutes, versus 70 to 80 minutes with a 100 mg Imitrex tablet.
And yes, I find it lasts about 8 hours. At the peak of my cycle, Imitrex tabs are only good for about 6 hours.
Of course, others may (and probably will) have less success than we two, but in my opinion it is worth a shot.
