I took pred for 12 days, starting at 3 pills a day and worked my way down to 1/2 a day. I think it broke the cylce the first day. I am still taking the Verm and have been HA free for 13 days.
I had 3 attacks while on the Pred but took imitrex to abort. I did gain a few pounds from the pred and had some constipation but all in all I would say they worked great for me. Good luck
