When I take Verapamil, it takes two weeks to kick in (180mg/day). But after that, I get no attacks for the remainder of the cycle (hooray!). I don't take any Verapamil off-cycle.
However, the cycle-to-cycle time certainly hasn't been prolonged for me in any way. If anything it has steadily decreased from 20 months to 12 months over the years, and that trend has happened with or without Verapamil.
I experience no adverse side effects.
