I am looking for articles on ergotomine alone. I feel certain that back in late 50's and 60's it was used by physcians to help assist women who were having difficulties in productive labour in child birth. I had two of six children for which my physcian gave me by intramuscular injuection what I thought I was told was "egotomine" and withing an hour my labour became active and productive.
If anyone knows something about this, I would appreciate it very much. It may well have been a misunderstanding on my part, but the word itself has stuck in my mind for years.
