Windows ME appears to have no upgrades and is working smooth, but has that internet look. I still prefer Windows 98 that has been working well provided you download about 27 Mbytes of fixes from MS. You can also download TweakUI from MS that lets you turn off what I call garbage like the animations that slows the computer down.

Regarding which operating system is best depends on your computer, nothing wrong with Win 95 for a Pentium class computer, the major changes are accommodating either the PII or PIII class processors. You can still use Win95 with the later computers, but may spend a half a day downloading patches. If you are running a Pentium class process, not much is gained by going to a later OS. I like Win ME on a PIII because it saves downloading a ton of patches and running into bugs.
