Well it's been a day and a half without a spell.. CH... headache... what ever these things are... Thanks to some old and new meds and lots of prayer our family is back on the road to a more normal life.
We did start on CH/Migrane type intervention with a good strong dose of a steroidal antinflamatory that will be continued for a while... Elavil 25mg TID for his serotonin... and a strong newer nonsteroidal vioxx 50mg... along with his Effexor and Depakote...
After two and 1/2 days of these meds this demon has halted a 3 time a day extremely severe HA that causes him to pass out... We finally got a consult with a Ped-Neuro and plan to see him soon. We even did some catch up work for school today as tolerated... Oh God thank you.
Thank you all expecially for your prayers and suggestions. We can see daylight and hope as been revived.
8 days of CH type pain that is enough to make you pass out 3 times a day is more than one can tolerate.
I still think there is a link to his allergy shots he started receiving in December and the head pain he has had.. He head is very tender in spots but is doing well now. I did read somewhere that histamine induces CH in 60% of CH Dx patients...
The big mistake we made was to think that Neurologists know every thing about these things... Maybe my information to him was bad... I can't say for sure but this certainly was not seizure stuff as that was his line of attack.
