MY CHs started at 14 as well. I would get one during the day and one in the middle of the night for a few weeks and then they would go away for a couple months and then return. I never passed out but I needed to sleep and eat the whole next day to recover. The pain is so intense I can see someone passing out as a defensive reaction.
PLEASE get him to a DR. with experience with CH as a check. There are some meds that can help.
If it does turn out to be CH please let him know I know exactly how he feels. I got them in school all the time and was miserable hanging on to the teacher as I was rushed to the nurse.
On the upside my clusters got further and further apart as I got older. It is now a couple years between clusters for me. (I am now 36)
