I have had many wonderful friends pray for me over the last eleven weeks of my first episode; I have not found any lasting relief, but I have sure appreciated their concern. There was a time when people at church would say a polite, "I'll pray for you." But it really is touching when a church group actually places their hands on you like in the Bible, identifies with your suffering, and pleads with God to grant you relief. That kind of care is what church should be all about.
