Well said Linda B. Jeannie find yourself another doctor (and another one if that one doesn't work). Keep looking until you find Dr. Right. There are a few of them out there.
And I agree - don't pay until they do something. After all they are "practicing" too. I've refused to pay a few who blew me off as a nut case. It gets their attention.
I was lucky and got diagnosed "correctly" after only two months into the first cluster. I had just turned 50 at the time and am female. It took a few years to figure out what Clusters were (they didn't explain that part real well - I thought they were migraines for a couple of years).
And just ignore everyone who says, "Oh I had those one time and they really are bad!" What the hell do they know?
Hang in there and find someone who will understand a little better.
