Do I know The New England Center for Headache? I have had their telehone # committed to memory for at least 5 years. My husband is a 44-year old man who has suffered from clusters for 25 years and has had them chronically for the past 7 yrs. My husband's file
requires a wheelbarrow when it is brought in to the doctor. Ken sees Dr. Rapoport, and there is
also a Dr. Sheftell. I would definitely give them a try. They may not be the be all and end all but they know all the right people and are generally
on top of most of the new findings. In fact, Ken
is going in to the hospital for 6 days to try a regimen of histamine desensitization in May. This procedure was first used (I think) by the Diamond Clinic in Chicago. (Dr. Rapoport is a
personal friend of Seymour Diamond). They
definitely do not treat migraines only and definitely do treat clusters as a very different and
distinct affliction. If you ever do see Dr. Rapoport, tell him that Ken & Cindy Cormier say
Hi. I've actually provided him with info from this
website from time to time. He actually takes me
quite seriously. Good luck to you.
Regards,
Cindy C.
