no question about your good intentions- but some expansion on why some us strongly suggest "don't bother"

also understand completely what you're talking about - am familiar with the different types of exchange forums

important to keep focussed on our primary purpose:
concentrating experience, suggestions, hopes and encouragements for CH patients AND exchaning therapy and treatment experiences to help speed along development of more effective remedies

1. in anything like this, it is ALWAYS most effective to keep everybody in the same room as much as possible - there are already more than this site devoted to CH specifically, and many, many devoted to headache in general

2. people aren't having ANY trouble finding this site - the participation population has soared in the not-quite-a-year I've been monitoring it

3. in my experience, newsgroups are VERY much a waste of time because they tend to accumulate many, many, many postings and participants that are extremely dubious as to focus & purpose;

4. DJ has spent incredible energy & time building & maintaining this site, and including establishing the domain - which IS how the world is coming to use the internet - why the devil disrupt things when they are working so well ? it would be a different question if people weren't getting here

5. very important not to confuse the map with the territory - this isn't an exercise in how to use home computers, it's about CH and relief - if you take the time to go through the archived postings, you'll see there have been many, many, many exchanges re: methods of communications - it always comes back to "if it works, don't fix it"

if you ARE a CH patient (you didn't say) we really want to share your experiences, and maybe can offer helpful suggestions you may not have tried -
so Jose, what's up with our newest clusterhead ?
