Hi Jan - am in the same state as you re age and menopause. It was my first thought too. BUT - there are many more women who suffer with CH than is thought by 'conventional wisdom'- many are misdiagnosed as migraines or hysterics. As far as I know there is no evidence to suggest that the menopause is one of the causes of clusters, but I'm SURE its one of the triggers. Of course, the fact that there is no evidence is interesting in itself - none has ever been done! I am going to see the neuro in June and plan to discuss HRT - my gynaecologist says there are no contra-indications but to ask the neuro. He will say he doesn't know. As an afterthought - I use Verapamil 120mgs three times a day - stops the headaches and also that horrible head blowing off feeling.
