From reading some of the posts I think I had a different surgery. Most of you are saying in your surgery they cut the trigeminal nerve. I too was given that option and from the research I had done knew that that type of sugery was not usually affective. My surgery involved going into the left side of the skull and finding an artery or large blood vessel which has a nerve butted up against it. The vessel pulsates due to the flow of the blood sometimes irritating the nerve. So they separated the nerve from the vessel and inserted a sponge in between the two protecting the nerve. In my case they not only found one artery/nerve combo--they found 3 in which they repaired. I have no numbness whatsoever anywhere.
