I have used Imitrex for the past several years. My normal cycles last 3 months. After using Imitrex up to 6 times a day/2mg/time, I have the tendency to to get rebound headaches. My rebounds are the same as a CH but at a kip of about 5, last for 45 min to an hour, and repeat every 2 hours. The only way I can break the rebounds is to eliminate all medications for 24 hours. Not a fun time. I've learned to let 1 or 2 CH's per day run their course without using any type of Imitrex. I try to keep these unassisted HA's at a Kip level of 5 or less. For the really bad ones, I still use Imitrex. The only other sympton I have, of using too much Imitrex, is an empty wallet.
