greetings,

i don't normally join MB but, this seems as good place, as any, to start. i've had CHA for about 15 years from age 32-47. i have been CHA free for 4 years until 6/1/01 (very discouraging). i'm in a very heavy stage right now. anyway, my experience:

32-35 years old: went to MD; realy not diagnosed; prescribed pain meds; CHA not really too bad yet
35-37 years old: CHA got severe; went to nuerologist, HA clinic. prescribed prednesone; 20-60mg initially then taper. it is important to taper and alternate on/off days without.
35-current: get prednesone 20-60mg/day from MD w/imitrex, both pills and injections (for the really bad ones). some pain meds. it is important to keep your med dosages to the lowest level that works, however, its sometimes a crap shoot.

i've tried every drug and treatment mentioned on this board; the above works for me. thats really the key, whatever works!

thanks to the people who make this web site! it's comforting to have somewhere to go to see whats new in the CHA world, i wish there was a cure! don't give-up you'll find your treatment and at least, be able to carry on until there gone.

david
