Hi. I started with lithium; reached 900mg/day and had five days/nights
without CH; then they came back (broke thru the 'lithium barrier').
Went to 1200mg to no avail. Doc then started my on verapamil at
180mg/day time released. After about four days, went to 240mg for
about four days. Then went to 360mg/day. Wasnt' working. The doc
and a doc at the pain center both said "It isn't working; we'll go
next to depakote." But I wanted to take it up to 480mg/day, *mainly
because of what I had read on this board.* Thought my CHs did not stop,
all of last week they were so mild and I had clean head during the day-
light hours. Last night I had no CH. I feel the verapamil is contributing -
perhaps the main reason - for this definite change in my CH pattern,
but there may be other factors contributing as well. Go to the search
engine and enter 'verapamil' to see archived discussions thereof.
