First, Thanks DJ.

I plan on being breif tonight, but who knows?
I'm 45 and had the first CH in high school gym class,
(always remember the first one don't ya?)
So we're lookin' at maybe 30 years. Remember Mom used to
have sinus HA's (more than likely CH's, now that I know)
Me, mostly chronic with a few memorable breaks. Always one-a dayer's.
'cept rarely when I get the full wrath of the demon. TIP, provided by
an old girl friend "Never say 'my HA' Never Claim them as your own.
Demon or beast works just fine. Having trouble with the space bar, 'cuse
me if my words run together.

Looks like I'm ramblin'. Well...you'll just get ta know me quicker.
First used the net to research CH late 97 after another sever bout.
Glad to see this site here this time, as they're back again. This time
for about 6 months so far. Think I made it a few years at one point CH
free, but I'm one of those who dosen't look back and remember dates very well.

I found this site early this am at work and spent nearly the entire day here
reading most everything, and going back a few week sin your posts. I am
impressed by what you folks have learned and are sharing.

In 97 (date from an old prescription)I was able to learn enough on the net to demand a
nurologist, and withthat info, was able to talk intelegently for the first time
to someone who cared and knew something. This site alone will help many in the same situation.
He gave prednisone, vepramil, lidocane, and some god-for-saken pain meds that I
tossed out after puking the second straight time I took em. Never the less, the
Prednisone, and vepramill worked great....for awhile, like Isaid, I'm back.
BTW, lidocane runs down my throat and makes me....too.

Last week visteded the GP (Kaiser Pacient, ya I know, but it's free) and she
had the foethought to read the nuerologists notes prior to my arriving. Will
mericals never cease? Anyway, back on the Prednisone (not working as quickly
as last time) and indreral(vep was making me dull, need to be sharp at work)
and for the first time imitrex (godsend). Prior to this vist I was "maintaining"
with midrin and O2. BTW O2 saved my life, still use it daily, er, nightly.

Well I see it's late and I can get an hour or two sleep before the demon awakes me,
must be up at six. We'll talk more later, but I need to say a word or two tow to the young ones who
are first experiancing these awful creations. My first CH was at age 17. They were not
frequent at first, as I remember. They did take me out of college, not that I was a brain
anyway. I was however able to work with them, you don't have to think if you know what you're
doing. And, over the last 25-30 years I've become an engineer, married for nearly 20 years, and
have a wonderful adpoted 14 year old boy.

Even with the CH's, there is a good life to be had. It's not fair (what is?) but you can enjoy
many great times. Don't dispar. I'll write anyone who even thinks about becoming suicidal. I do
have alot to say on the subject, once being there myself.

Best of luck everyone, nice to meet you, hope I didn't bore ya too much.

Lee (with a C)
