Hi Ted and everybody,

Many thanks for your support already. I had a feeling it wouldn't take long!

Intensity...I guess what I meant to say was that the PAIN doesn't necessarily last all day, just the aftereffects (when it's a particularly severe one, that is). Meaning the sensitivity to light, swelling of the side of her face, and bloodshot/teary eye once she does wake up. After she sleeps it off (may be as much as 6-8 hours, though I said 4-5 in my orig. post) she seems mostly pain free though she may have a few brief "stabs" throughout the day if it's a bad one. She'll say "ow!" and clap her hand to her eye. Only on two occasions (both of which have occurred over the past two months, though there has been a "mild one" in between) has she had episodes during which the pain did seem to last on and off throughout the following day and night. On the last one (May 21) she took a nap during the early evening (after having been up several hours with an attack during the previous night)and woke up from this screaming again.

On the pain severity/intensity scale, I'd have to say a big 10, especially right after she wakes up with it. She will sit straight up in bed and scream.

Thanks so much for all your comments so far...I have felt so alone with this, though family and friends have been very supportive.
