i think it's a good choice. your physicians therapy is one i was given 10 years ago by a nuerologist and a HA clinic physician. i too take the imitrex injections for bad ones and the pills (50/100mg), if i can tolerate the CHA for 45min-1 hour wait. i usually take 20-60mg prednesone starting, then taper. the only thing about pred is that it not tolerated well for long extended periods. i'm sure you've heard this. my only complaint is a red face, false sense of strength and some bruising, inability to keep infection down (like zits) or cuts. but, it's worth it! no pain! i think a safe route with pred would be 2-6 weeks ending the 5 week at alternate days at a low dose. mine are usually kicked by then.
