Hi. You're right, it could be a long road.
I've been a chronic for about 9 years. When I have an attack, there's really nothing that can be done. Sometimes my wife will ask if I need anything (ice pack, fresh coffee (it sometimes helps), etc. ) usually I answer, sometimes it hurts too much, and she leaves me alone...at that time, that's what I need most. What I don't need is questions, conversation. It sounds selfish, but I guess thats what an attack does.
