Clusters after 8 years of relief and I find a drug that actually works for me. Doctor writes a script for 60 days of injectible imitrex. HMO says 2 kits a month is all I need so that is all they will pay for. Eight weeks in and the cycle seems to be ending. Insurance company is out $400 and I am out $5000. Every month going foreward I will be at the pharmacy collecting my two HMO paid imitrex. If my math is correct, and I am lucky enough to go another 8 years, HMO is out 19,200. Seems fair.
