180mg/day shouldn't be hard to get off of. I take 360mg/day. When it's time to quit I go down to 240/day for 2 or 3 days, then 120/day for 2 or 3 days, then maybe 60/day for a couple of days. My doc doesn't even think the 60/day is necessary but I do it anyway. Think I'm more afraid of the HA coming back than the side effects of verapamil.

The reason to wean off verap. is because it relaxes the muscles of the veins. As you quit taking it the veins will tighten back up (constrict). If you do it too quickly it can result in elavated blood pressure, chest pains or even heart problems (the big one). If your chest gets tight or uncomfortable go back up a notch & talk with you doc.

Glad to hear the HA may be gone.
