You need a non-rebreather mask - and if you got nose canules you can throw them out right now!
For me, it takes 5 minutes to flatten the pain curve out (it gets no worse) another 5 mins for the pain to disappear. But you have to catch them at the first twinge.
But if mask and flow an catching are all finally right, you may sadly be one of those for whom O2 does not work. I hope that's not the case.
