Since the only relationship between bloodflow/vascular
and cluster headaches is not in it's entirety the complete story. The reduction in bloodflow does effect the nerve stimulation. If taking a medication
such as Verapamil and other calcium channel blockers to
help reduce such bloodflow, a minor tranquilizer such as Valium, Xanax, Ativan, etc.-in small yet adequate doses will help to desentisize the nerves, thus reduc-
ing the amount of attacks as well as their severity.
